Crime Watch - Area Coordinator - Responsibilities:

The Crime Watch Area Coordinator will serve as the main contact between the Police Department and West Creek Estates Crime Watch by receiving information from the Police Department and passing it on to the Block Captains.  Will organize Block Captains to best cover the neighborhood and recruit replacement Block Captains when positions open up.  Will submit Crime Watch sign requests and funds.  Will encourage Block Captains to have biannual meetings with the crime watch residents.

Block Captain Coordinator - Responsibilities:

The Block Captain Coordinator will recruit and support the Block Captains of WCE.  In addition will request help distributing Neighborhood Association information from the Block Captains as needed by the Communication Committee or other Board Members.

Block Captain - Responsibilities:

* Distribute information to each of the residents as requested by the Block Captain Coordinator or Crime Watch Area Coordinator.
* Distribute New Neighbor Packets which will include a cover letter, Nine House Sheet, a McGruff House Application and various other information about our
   neighborhood, as well as, Plano, Texas.
* Meet with residents during Neighborhood Association meetings and Block Parties (a Crime Prevention Officer can make presentations at WCE meetings and events)
* Notify Area Coordinator and/or Block Captain Coordinator if they are no longer able to perform Block Captain Duties.
* Pass on the information received from the Area Coordinator to the individual residential households.

Plano Police Department - Crime Watch Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Help you get your neighborhood organized.
2. Attend your organizational meetings.
3. Pass important information to area coordinators in your neighborhood.
4. Assist with educational and social neighborhood meetings.
 

Residents Responsibilities:

As a Crime Watch Neighbor, your responsibilities are to be a good neighbor by watching out for each other's property and by reporting suspicious activity to the police. You should know the three (3) neighbors across the street from your home, two (2) on each side, and the three (3) neighbors behind your residence. YOU should have a heightened awareness for your neighbors welfare and you should be more than willing to report suspicious activity to the police. Citizens can be assured that when they report suspicious activity, their name will be held in strictest confidence.
